Search Tips

Enter a word, number or ident into the search box above to find any related photographs. You can search for types, operators, locations, registration numbers, and NA3T catalogue numbers. Click the column heading to sort into order.

Our search facility is a simple string search so keep your searches simple.

Examples:

• Searching for “AEC” will bring up all of our AECs – both CV and PCV (We shall be addressing this issue and spliting CVs and PCVs at our next major site update).
• Searching for “[8]” will bring up all vehicles listed as eight wheel rigids and any vehicles with “8” as the fleet number.
• Searching for “[6+4]” will list all of our artic rigs with 6 wheel tractors on 4 wheel trailers. Keywords such as “dropside”, “reefer”, “tipper” etc will work but searching for “[6+4] tipper” will not.

You can also search for collections. Searching for “Hu” will bring up a list of 245 pages, the Hustwitt Collection starts on Page 4. Likewise, “JLC” will find the Jack London collection and any vehicles with JLC in the registration whilst “JLC0” (That’s a zero on the end) will find only Jack’s negatives.

If looking for operators, search for the surname or single word only as initials may be entered differently by different people.

Downloadable Images

We are engaged on a programme of high definition scanning to make photo quality images available for instant purchase. These images are NA3T copyright and for personal use only. For more information please click here.

Images may be saved to suitable media and taken to your local high street photographers for printing. Alternatively they may be sent to one of the many on-line digital printers.

At popular request, the medium size will produce the classic 5½"×3½" (Postcard size) photo if printed on 6"×4" paper.
